Just plain gorgeous
Encompassing bluffs and valleys, lakes, rivers and waterfalls and more open land than just about anywhere in the Midwest, scenic beauty is the signature of the Gogebic Iron Range. You'll never grow tired of the panorama or picturesque setting waiting for you around every bend.
Lake Superior, Saxon Harbor, Black River Harbor, Turtle-Flambeau Flowage, Gile Flowage, Copper Peak, hundreds of lakes, rivers, waterfalls, parks, and forests define this special place.
Everywhere you look, it's just plain gorgeous.
A three and a half season wonderland
All four seasons are beautiful on the range. The sun beating off the waves of Lake Superior on a warm summer day, an amazing array of fall colors in our forests, dazzling snow-covered hills and trees, and our springs – while a bit short – awaken the wonders again.
The Gogebic Iron Range, home of a four-season wonderland (well, three and a half, really).
Is that a fact?
The Gogebic Range has thousands of acres of county, state and national open forest land, hundreds of miles of trails, hundreds of inland lakes and dozens of waterfalls - all open to the public. You can’t go more than six miles in any direction without falling in a lake, river, or stream.
Yes, that's a fact.
